bush-enciende-la-mecha.jpgSergio Langer works in an art studio, on a simple chair. He draws ugly people – both in appearance, and spirit – because his art is seasoned with truth. Stereotypes make him dizzy – he laughs at them, at the social vicissitudes, and the middle class of the city. He laughs every day through his drawings, which are published in Clarin, the daily newspaper with the highest level of distribution in Argentina.

Another view: lets explore the possibility of removing the stigma that is attached to “living in a slum” (or “villa de emergencia”) – the poorest neighborhoods of the city. Think of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, or the bustees of Bombay. In the workshops of the PH15 Foundation, kids and teenagers – aged between 9 and 25 years old – try to find a way of playing with light. They learn how to handle a camera, and to take photos that can be used as an expression of their reality – taken from their own perspectives. At the crossroad of this city, culture can also speak about forgotten people. Where creativity can lead to social inclusion; the stories of those kids who also learned about pride, prejudice, and prefabricated political scenes.
